Dear Prism experts,
How do I find out my credit score?
Answer:
Your credit score is calculated from the data in your credit report. There are three credit reporting companies that generate your credit reports and scores: TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian.
The AnnualCreditReport.com site is the only federally mandated and authorized source for obtaining an annual credit report from each agency. While the credit scores displayed there are approximate, the more useful information is found in the credit report. Examine the credit reports for any mistakes and compare the three credit reports to spot any inconsistencies.
Keeping your credit report in check not only lets you get the best interest rates when borrowing money, but also helps spot larger problems like identity theft.
