Your Payment Status

Now that you have paid your bill, you might have some questions.

Can I cancel my payment?

If you made your payment for today, you have 10 minutes to cancel the payment before processing begins. If you made your payment for a future date, you will have until 9 AM local time on the day you scheduled to cancel your payment. If your payment is now processing, you may still be able to cancel your payment. Please message us in support with "stop payment" in your message and your payment will be put on hold, but only if it has not been fully processed and accepted by the biller. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to cancel it at this point.

Why does my payment show as "processing"?

After you make your payment, your payment enters the Prism payment processing queue. Under normal circumstances, your payment will be immediately processed. However, on certain days, we may have more to process and, therefore, it can take a bit longer. We ensure that payments are always processed on the day you pay them and, if the bill is coming due, we will prioritize that payment. You can check back later - once you see your confirmation number, you will know that your payment has been processed and accepted by the biller. Your biller may also email (or text you) after the payment has been processed.

Why isn't the payment I made showing up in my bank ledger?

When you make a payment in Prism, you are instructing your biller to either charge your credit card or pull funds from your bank account. With credit cards, your card is almost always charged immediately. With bank accounts, the process is a bit slower and, therefore, can take more time. Depending on the time of day, the day of week, and which processor the biller uses, it can take 2-3 business days for the funds to be pulled from your bank account. Rest assured, though, since the biller credits your payment on the day you made it.

How do I know that my payment has been processed?

Once your payment has been processed, you will see a confirmation number on this screen. That confirmation number was provided by your biller directly, so if you have specific questions about your payment when talking to your biller, provide that number for reference.
